Suspension of Civil Rights in Germany

Suspension of Civic Rights: A mysterious fire that broke out in the German Parliament building in February facilitated his move in removing the democratic structures in Germany. Hitler indefinitely suspended civic rights like freedom of speech press and assembly by the Fire Decree of 28th February, 1933.

Crime against humanity carried out by Nazis included the following

  • They suspended civil rights like freedom to speech, press and assembly.
  • Concentration camps were established to torture communists.
  • Hitler banned all political parties and trade unions except the Nazi party and its affiliates.
  • Special surveillance and security forces were created to control and order society in ways that the Nazi's wanted. People could now be detained in Gestapo torture camps.
  • The jews, Gypsies and Blacks were classified as ' undesirable' and they were widely persecuted.
  • Germany occupied Czechoslovakia and Poland capture civilians were forced to serve as slave labour.
  • Jew teachers and 'politically' unreliable teachers were dismissed from the schools were considered as thrown out of school.
  • Aryan women who deviated from the prescribed code of conduct were publicity condemned and punished.
